Yoga Music 1 was very well received, and one of the teachers asked me for more – so I wrote Yoga Music 2 (I really need help with titles).

I spent a great summer doing yoga with my friends at Pink Lotus, and to celebrate the studio’s 5th birthday, I wrote some music to be played during Shavasana (final resting pose).

After a great trip to Leeds, England to visit the wife, I came back to SC to see everything blooming in all its glory. Just fantastic! Made me realize that coming out of the turbulence of the dark winter and into the rebirth of spring is possibly the best therapy available!

So excited to announce that I finished the choral piece “The Charge of the Light Brigade.” I’m very pleased with it and ready for the premier in the fall of 2016. It is set for SATB (divisi) a capella choir and is an honest telling of Tennyson’s epic poem about the Siege of Sevastopol during the Crimean War, with the haunting lines “All in the valley of death rode the six hundred.” Gives me chills.

My brilliant friend David Feiertag recorded “Hashkiveinu” one of the Two Hebrew Prayers I wrote for Congregation Emanu-El in Wichita, KS. Kathy Nenadal is the pianist. Boy, is it fun writing for that voice!

“Foxglove” a torch song with a twist from a musical David L. Williams and I are working on about two serial killers (fun for the entire family)! I am thrilled that Jennifer J. Winn and Tim Ribchester recorded this song. They nailed it!

My fabulously cool and tech-savy brother-in-law, turned an old cassette tape into MP3 files for me, and I now have the premier recording of my SUBWAY SONGS in a usable form. SUBWAY SONGS are a set of three songs for soprano from poetry I found on the wall of the NYC Subway – part of the MTA”s “Poetry in Motion” series. This is a recording of the first song of the set “Along the hardcrest of the snowdrift” and is sung by soprano Alison Kelly at her Master’s of Music Recital at the Manhattan School of Music.

On Friday April 17th – Soprano, Liana Valente will premier my song cycle “I Love Red Poppies” at the Woman’s Club of Arlington, Virginia.

This is a recording of one the first songs I wrote – an unaccompanied setting of Robert Frost’s “The Pasture.”

Very excited – Kim Sharnberg did a fabulous job orchestrating my concert aria “St. Crispin’s Day.”  With the great line, “We few, we happy few, we band of brothers” it screamed to be orchestrated for tenor and wind ensemble, and Kim nailed it.  It’s a lot of fun, and what a great speech.  That Shakespeare fellow, mad skills.
